Villa Velanidi is nestled in the hills between Kourkoumelata and Kaligata on the beautiful island of Kefalonia in Greece.

It is in a wonderful quiet location with views to the Ionian sea on one side and Mount Aenos on the other side.

The Villa is only five minutes from Avithos beach, ten minutes from the airport and twenty minutes from the main town of Argostoli. Surrounded by gardens and olive trees, you have views of the sea, mountains and valley, plenty of privacy and easy access to many of Kefalonia's attractions.

Please get in touch and we will be delighted to advise you of how and where to get the best flights, car rental and ferries to get to the Villa.

Kefalonia, also know as Keffilinia, Cephalonia and other spelling variants, is the largest of the seven Ionian islands off the west coast of Greece. The largest town is Argostoli.

Flying to Kefalonia

You can also fly directly to Zante on Easyjet from Gatwick and take the ferry to Kefalonia.

During the tourist season of May to October there are direct charter flights to Kefalonia airport (“EFL”) from a number of airports in Europe including most UK gateway airports such as London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.

Scheduled flights are through Athens (“ATH”) to EFL on Olympic airlines and Aegean Airlines. AirSea Lines also has scheduled flights from other regional airports and seaports.

Regular and low cost airlines such as British Airways, Olympic Airlines, Easyjet and Aegean Airlines fly to ATH from the UK.

Ferries

Kefalonia has three main ferry ports:
• Sami on the east of the island which has a regular service to and from Patras (main port on the western Peloponnese) and some services to Astakos (small city on the mainland).
• Poros on the south of the island which has a regular service to and from Kyllini (about an hour south of Patras).
• Argostoli which is the main town on the west of the island and has various services.

There are other ports which serve smaller routes around the island including Fiskardo in the north with services to the island of Lefkas and Ithaka, and Pesada in the southeast with a service to Skinari on Zakynthos.

There are also some ferries from Italy to Sami.

Car Rental

There are international and local car rental companies at the ports, the town of Argostoli and at the airport.
